Trees are pruned for many reasons; to remove dead wood and dangling branches (cleaning); to raise the tree canopy above driveways, sidewalks and streets (raising); to direct limbs away from roof tops and utility lines (reduction); to allow more sunlight penetration below the tree (thinning). In every instance, proper pruning is essential in developing a tree with a strong structure and desirable form.
We at The Tree Wise Men understand that each cut has the potential to change the growth of a tree, which is why we analyze the tree carefully to determine where and how to make each cut before picking up a chainsaw or pruning shears.
Proper pruning increases the health and value of a tree. Poor pruning can cause damage that lasts for the life of the tree, and can even shorten the life of the tree or cause the tree to become structurally unstable.
